Hurricane Earl pulls away, heat settles in
Hurricane Earl continues to slowly weaken and work its way up the east coast of the United States.
On the back side of the storm, near record heat is likely this afternoon. The record high temperature for today is 97 degrees dating back to 1944.
Sunshine will dominate today giving way to a few clouds this weekend.
Some computer models hint that a cold front that will slide through tomorrow and may bring a few isolated showers Sunday/Labor Day.
Most folks should dry through the holiday weekend with temperatures dropping into the middle to upper 80’s by Sunday/Labor Day.
