UPDATE: Thursday forecast

Josh Marthers

A pretty decent rebound in temperatures will occur today with most of us reaching at least the lower 60s before more cold air arrives for the next few days.  A few clouds will mix in with sunshine today but skies will clear quickly as very dry air moves in for Friday and Saturday.  High temperatures will struggle to make it to the low 50s on Friday with another hard freeze expected Friday night with lows in the 20s for most of us.

The core of the Arctic air will arrive late Friday night and Saturday allowing temperatures to only reach the middle and upper 40s at best under sunny skies on Saturday afternoon.  It looks like temperatures will once again drop into the 20s on Saturday night.  Bright sunshine will allow our temperatures to rise into at least the lower 50s on Sunday.  There are indications that this shot of cold air could be a little bit colder than what we experienced on Tuesday and Wednesday.  For now, I’m going with a similar air mass instead of the colder one, but keep in mind that could change and temperatures may need to be docked a few degrees on both Friday and Saturday.

By Monday, winds will begin to pick up out of the west and southwest allowing for a pretty decent rebound in temperatures.  Most of us should reach the lower to middle 60s on Monday as another cold front approaches from the west.  It looks like there may be enough return flow moisture to create a band of showers ahead of this front late Monday and into Tuesday.  Another shot of cold air will arrive just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

Have a great Thursday and enjoy the somewhat milder air while it lasts!
